Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in television and film, is best known for films such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only one child to Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into showbiz early and landed up being the lead in a variety of shows on television by the time she was just 16. Her highly acclaimed performance on the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall.
