Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actor. She is famous for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills on ABC's Lost TV show. Maggie Grace is originally from Worthington in Ohio, dropped out of high school and moved into Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. While struggling financially she landed her first role as Rachel's Room's title character the video on-demand show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murdered Martha Moxley. In 2004, Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost in which she was a main cast member for the first two seasons, and was awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Leaving the series Grace wanted to appear on film more frequently, having been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The role was reprised as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the main character Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role on Lost for two episodes, which included the final episode of the series. In 2013, she was in the sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith as a groupie, as well as a model for stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Being part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the younger sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens her career began as a small part-time actress for her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko with her twin brother. Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama), and Sherrybaby (606), both that earned the actress Golden Globe Award nods. After a string of commercially successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). Following her acclaimed performance as an unmarried mother on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she received the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Following that, she went on to appear in comedy films as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011), and Will Not Back Down (12). The other roles she's played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 Action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as her role as the kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal started her career as screenwriter and director in 2021 when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter.
